BUDAPEST FILM AWARDS

BUDAPEST FILM AWARDS celebrates the art of independent cinema. We are not afraid to take creative risks and nurture new talent, something rarely seen in this age of austerity and conformity. We aim for diversity and accept short films in all genres across the globe.

Our mission is to discover talented filmmakers from all over the world. We will help them promote their short films, expand their contacts, and the best will be given an opportunity to further improve their filmmaking skills in our program.

The winners of our prominent categories will receive an invitation to our joint filmmaking program. Besides meeting fellow artists, the most successful will be also given a free of charge opportunity to learn from established filmmakers in the industry.

Additional valuable prizes will be given for the winners of the BEST SHORT FILM, BEST DIRECTOR and BEST STUDENT FILM categories.

We know how hard it is for filmmakers to produce and distribute their works, especially if those are short films.

BUDAPEST FILM AWARDS represents a great opportunity for every filmmaker to further showcase their films and get the public feedback and recognition they deserve. The selected films will be further evaluated, screened and promoted by a team of industry experts.

SCREENWRITING CONTEST: Besides helping independent filmmakers, we want to help writers even more. Therefore, we created a

SHORT SCRIPT CATEGORY where you can submit your screenplay up to 25 pages.

The Budapest Film Awards is organized by the BUDAPEST FILM ACADEMY in partnership with EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY, Department of Film Studies (Budapest) and LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY, School of Film and Television (Los Angeles).
